  • Pioneers finish season with 66-32 shellacking of Augusta

    The Pioneers headed to Augusta on Wednesday to take on the Augusta Elks. The Pioneers won 66-32 with four different Pioneers finding the end zone. Laurence and Weston Allderdice both rushed for three touchdowns. Ryan Roth scored on a 77 yard kick return late in the game. A sign of great things to come in the future.     The Ladies hosted their parents and handed out flowers for parents night Tuesday against Centerville. Unfortunately the ladies were not able to bring home the win. Ending the season with a loss didn’t stop them from still enjoying the game. The score for the three sets were 18-25 16-25 7-25.     I sat down with superintendent Moore and talked about the new cruiser bus filling the bus barn and this is what he had to say. As we all know school funding is complex. There are numerous funds that can only be used for certain things. The general fund is the main fund of a school and that pays for staff salaries, benefits, monthly bills and curricular needs.     The Pioneers came up against one of the top teams in the state on Friday. If not for the first quarter we could have had them. The Geraldine - Highwood Rivals came out rockin' and had three scores by the end of the first quarter. Any other team would have rolled over, but not our Pioneers.
