Box Elder tops Big Sandy, District 9C right around the corner

The Big Sandy boys and girls basketball teams fell on Thursday to the Box Elder Bears in what would be their only contest of the weekend.
The top seeded Box Elder Bears raced past Big Sandy 68-22 after jumping out to a 48-11 half time lead.
Big Sandy was paced on the night by junior Jaylyn Cline's eight points.
The boys trailed 29-17 at the intermission but were able to cut the Box Elder lead in half by the start of the fourth trailing just 42-36.
Big Sandy matched the Bears for much of the quarter but were unable to make up the difference as they fell 61-52.
