    The Big Sandy Gun Show returns January 27-28-29, 2023 at Jerry Martin Hall, 115 Johannes Avenue in Big Sandy. The three day event has a little something for everyone and fans of Gun Shows certainly won’t want to miss this one.     The Big Sandy boys and girls basketball teams concluded their seasons this past weekend at the District 9C Tournament. Played at the Havre High School gymnasium last Wednesday through Saturday it was decided what three boys and girls teams would represent the District at the Northern C Divisional in Great Falls this week. The Big Sandy Pioneer boys finished the season with a big win at home Friday night over the Turner Tornadoes, 70-60 and fell unexpectedly Saturday afternoon to the Chester/Joplin-Inverness Hawks 56-43. Friday night the Pioneers knocked out the North Star Knights 56-46.     The Big Sandy Pioneer boys and girls basketball teams were at home on Friday night as they hosted the Denton/Geyser-Stanford Bearcats in a non-conference basketball game. Both teams played well but fell short of picking up a win. The girls were defeated by a score of 67-45 while the boys came up short 62-45.     The 2018 General Election saw record turnout all across the nation, the state of Montana and Chouteau County as voters swarmed to the polls to vote in the mid-term election. Overall it was tied with 1994 as the most voted mid-term election of all time with 69.93% of Montana voters casting ballots and only trailed the 2016 Presidential Election (74.44%) overall.     The scoreboard operator was busy Friday night in Big Sandy as the Pioneers capped off the 63rd Annual Chili Feed with a 89-52 win over the Power-Dutton-Brady Titans. Big Sandy scored 11 rushing touchdowns in the contest, added another through the air and a 13th on a kickoff return and then added a Safety for good measure.     The Big Sandy Pioneer football team picked up a big win over the weekend as they defeated the Denton/Geyser/Stanford Bearcats 66-31 in a Northern C Six-man contest.
