The Big Sandy Mountaineer -

The regular season concluded this past Monday for the Big Sandy Pioneer boys and girls basketball teams and now their sights are set on the District 9C tournament which begins today (Wednesday) and runs through Saturday.

The Pioneer boys picked up their second conference win of the season Saturday night with a down to the wire 52-51 win over the Chester/Joplin-Inverness Hawks.

After battling their way to a 27-27 tie during first half action the boys were able to secure the victory with a 18-15 advantage in the fourth quarter.
