Pioneers get another Bye Week, playoff hopes still alive

October 3, 2018

For the second time this season the Big Sandy Pioneer football team was forced to stay home instead of taking the field for a varsity football contest. Earlier in the season it was the unforeseen forfeit to the North Star Knights that cost them a game, this past week it was the Augusta Elks who had canceled their season back in August.

The playoffs are still very much a possibility for the young Pioneers and they can look forward to pursuing that goal this Saturday when they head to Denton to take on the Denton/Geyser/Stanford Bearcats in a crucial Northern C Six-man football contest.

Big Sandy will close out the regular season with home games against the Power/Dutton/Brady Titans on Friday, October 12 and the Valier Panthers on Friday, October 19.

The first round of the playoffs will be Saturday, October 27.
