On January 6 Bailey Gasvoda and Bryanna Goodman participated in a Cross–Fit competition in Spokane Washington at the fair-grounds. They left the competition very inspired and after talking to them you'll realize you're inspired too!

Cross Fit uses rowing machines, assault bikes (bikes that use both your arms and your legs), bar bells with weights.

Bailey Gasvoda said, "I just started Cross Fit in August. Bryanna was such a good teammate, because she is so strong. She's been doing it for a little bit longer." They competed against other women in timed events. Everyone in her division lifted the same amount.

They had 55 pounds on their bar bell. They had to do different lifts. The bike competition measured how many calories you used during your time on the bike. "It is really hard to get calories off on the bike." They had two minutes to recover between different sets. "From there we had our three-rep max front squat." She went on to explain the bar bell is on the ground and they had decided to start by lifting 115 pounds.

You shrug it up to your shoulders, and then clean it and bringing it your chest and then front squat three times. They maxed at 120. Bailey was upset with herself, because the day before she had lifted 130 pounds. The second work out was called the "Chipper." They had to get on the rower till they had used up 80 calories, before moving to 60 wall balls which was a 14-pound ball that they had threw hitting a mark on the wall before they did squatting again.

Next they moved to 40 devil pressing. "There is a 50-pound sand bag with handles on the flour, you did a burpee and then you took the sand bag and you brought it to your chest before lifting it above you head."

After that they did 20 shuttle runs, before more time to recover. The last event, they won. "Bryanna did Dumb bell snatches, I did dumb bell thrusters, a burpee and then you jump over a box and then another burpee again between our dumb bell work."

"It was challenging. I started Cross Fit to get in shape for Basketball, but when I couldn't do basketball, I found out I could compete in Cross Fit. This is something I see myself doing for years. I want to do it again. I can do this competition for the rest of my life. It was supper empowering to watch the women who were so strong. I want more from myself. "

"It is physically straining, but I'm excited to see what I can do in the future." She plans on doing this for the rest of her life. "Julie Meyers is amazing. Without her there is no way I could have done this. She does a phenomenal job coaching. More people should try it."

Bryanna Goodman said, "Bailey has a brighter future in Cross Fit then I do. I started Cross Fit because I wanted to challenge myself. And I continue to do it because it has shown me my body can do so much more, honestly, then I ever thought possible. My body is capable of so much more. I am so glad I did it."

When Baily asked her to be her partner in the competition she was afraid of failing and letting her down, but she has learned she is capable of more and she knew she could do it. "I am so glad I did because seeing all of the women in various stages of fitness was super inspiring. We weren't there to compete against each other we were there to show up for ourselves to cheer on each other. It was so inspiring."

She finished by saying "Julie totally believed in me. She gave me confidence."
