Meet the new owners of LIFT Fitness

November 3, 2021

New LIFT owners l to r: Connie Reichlet, Tracy Schuster, and Marlys Myers.

The new owners of LIFT are Maryls Myers, Tracy Schuster, and Connie Reichelt. Maryls has gone to LIFT for 4 ½ years and said, "I have never stuck with anything this long." Following that, Tracy told me, "This September was my fourth anniversary for attending LIFT. Marlys Myers talked me into going for the first time, and I was hooked!" Connie Reichelt said, "I have been attending classes for three years. I have struggled with orthopedic issues, and strength training has helped me immensely." All three women have other jobs. Maryls owns Agri-Praire Insurance, while Tracy owns Hair I Am. Connie teaches at Box Elder school. So their lives are busy, but they all felt it was too important not to have LIFT continue.

Each new owner said they bought the business because they wanted to keep what Julie Myers had started going. Tracy said, "I enjoy CrossFit so much, and I feel better the days I go to class! When Julie Myers decided to sell LIFT, we wanted to keep the business that she built going. She is an amazing coach, and we hope she will be back to coach some classes in the near future! I really like that we have some awesome coaches and that even if you think you can't do CrossFit, you CAN! All movements in the workouts can be modified to fit any needs."

Similarly, Maryls said, "The biggest reason is that I know I won't continue to work out without the gym. It has been life-changing for me. All of us wanted to continue what Julie created. It is much too important to all of us to lose."

Again, Connie said, "I did not want to see all of Julie Myer's hard work end. She put so much energy and commitment into the business, and it has helped so many people's lives. I wanted to see it continue.

Right now, they hope to keep the classes they have going, but Maryls told me, "We hope that between all of us we can offer more classes and some other types of classes. I wish everyone could come and experience what we all have. It is 100% life-changing. I am still amazed at the things I can do. I hope everyone will give it a chance, come with a friend and try it. You just need to show up. You don't have to think about anything; your workout is planned for you. It is more important than ever to keep our bodies healthy, and exercise is a big part of it." Tracy added, 'We are working on adding a new type of exercise class to be offered on the weekends! We will let the community know when we have the details worked out! I would encourage anyone of any fitness level to check out any of our classes. Connie said, "I would love to see more people utilize the gym." That's why they are looking into other classes.

Right now LIFT is open 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Monday- Friday, 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Open gym 6:30-p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is located in Downtown Big Sandy next to Agri-Prairie Insurance. I thought that the Pumpkin Run was a wonderful idea, and I hope it will continue to grow over the years. I could just see whole families enjoying the exercise together while dressed up for the holiday season. It has been moved to November 6th. So there is still time to register to run, jog, or walk a 5K as a relay team of three, two, or completely alone. You will be given a pumpkin that must start and finish the race with you. Kids may use a wagon, stroller, etc., to help carry pumpkin. Adults may use a backpack. You can call any of the LIFT owners or email-liftfitmt@gmail.com.

Children 12 and under have a 1K race following the 5 K. It does cost. $30 per team, $15 kids team, $20 solo/$10 child but there are prizes to earn!
