The Big Sandy Pioneers spoiled another homecoming this week by defeating the Northstar Knights in Rudyard on Saturday. Kody Strutz scored four touchdowns in the effort, while Braydon Cline threw for three touchdowns and scored on a 42 yard run of his own. The Knights did put up some early resistance to the vaunted Pioneer offense but to no avail. The score at the end of the contest would be 52-6. The shutout was broken on a last second touchdown pass that was caught by Gavin Clawson.

Once again the Pioneers capitalized on their opening possession. Kody Strutz proved to be nearly unstoppable in the early going. He finished off the opening drive with a 3 yard rushing touchdown. Strutz would find the endzone again in the 1st quarter on the next Big Sandy offensive possession, scoring on a 25 yard rush. Freshman Ty Terry made his first four PATs to contribute to the Pioneer scoring. After one quarter the Pioneers led 16-0.

Braydon Cline would connect with Kody Strutz on a 9 yard touchdown pass to start the second quarter, putting the team up 24-0. Lane Demontiney would find the endzone on the next Pioneer possession scoring on a 52 yard run. After another Big Sandy defensive stop, Cline and Demontinery would connect on a 3 yard touchdown reception. The Pioneers led at the half 38-0.

The only touchdown of the third quarter came on Braydon Cline's 42 yard touchdown rush. The Pioneers would lead 44-0 going into the fourth quarter. Sophomore Ryder Galbavy contributed on the defensive side of the ball with 4 tackles and a fumble recovery. The final Big Sandy touchdown was another Cline to Strutz connection on a 7 yard reception. Ty Terry would make his fifth extra 2 point of the game to put the team up 52-0. The Pioneer victory put their season record at 5-0.

This week will be Chili Feed for the Pioneers and they'll face the Box Elder Bears at 7PM on Friday. Other unbeaten 6-Man teams across the state are Jordan, Denton-Geyser-Standord-Geraldine(DGSG), and Brodview-Lavina.
