Coach McKenney wrote, "We won an exciting 5-set match against North Star this week. Even though we played up and down throughout, I was happy to see us finish. We still have a lot of work to do, but I think we are on the right track. My goal for us is to continue being scrappy defensively while also improving our offensive game."

Big Sandy beat North Star three sets to two. Scores: 14-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, 16-14

For the last five years, the North Star nights have consistently beaten the Lady Pioneers in Volleyball. This year Big Sandy has won both games. For that reason, it was exciting to watch! The girls were having a lot of fun playing together. Scrappy is the correct word. They fought for every point. It has been a long drought for the Pioneers so winning these games against a longtime rival was Team Stats: Digs: 84, Assists: 31, Kills: 43, Blocks: 8, and Aces: 8. They played well as a team.

No one left the gym as the fans were having a lot of fun themselves watching the girls. I thought it was interesting watching the crowd respond to the girls' play. Sometimes, people stood up to clap on an exceptional play. There were several times the ball volley back and forth with both teams having to work hard. It made everyone appreciate the game. And If I can, I'd say I am beginning to love the game of Volleyball because of these girls' efforts. The individual leaders: Digs: 21-Angie Sant, Assists: 31-Jai Baumann, Kills 15-Keira Galbavy, Blocks: 4-Keira Galbavy, and Aces: 3-Keira Galbavy and Malaysia Baumann.
