They scheduled it for March 16, 2024, and it has been held since 1984.     The Big Sandy Girl’s Basketball team is heading to the state basketball tournament for the first time in 15 years. The girls team has spent the last week and a half resting, getting healthy, and preparing for their trip to Great Falls to face off against the top ranked teams in Montana. I spoke with Coach Travis Baumann about the team, their season, and the team’s morale going into the state tournament.     Early I interviewed, Cheyenne Feltz, DNP PMHNP-BC, the most recent provider at the Big Sandy Medical Center. Feltz is the new mental health provider, who is a Board Certified (BC) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a Doctor of Nursing (DNP).     The 4-H Shooting Sports 2024 Chouteau County Invitational Shoot was held February 24th in Fort Benton with 64 members registered to shoot. Participants were mostly from the Golden Triangle Counties. Other counties participating were Flathead, Lewis and Clark, Wheatland and Gallatin.     In August 1973, I left St. Louis, Missouri and traveled by train to Hays, Montana to accept a position as Principal of St. Paul’s Mission School in Hays on Ft Belknap Reservation. During the next few years, 5 more Sisters joined me to teach and minister on Ft. Belknap. From there, after nine years, I moved to Great Falls at the request of Bishop Murphy to work for the Catholic Diocese. I lived there for 14 years and participated in various ministries.     Your Lady Pioneers are headed to STATE! Last Monday's challenge game was exciting, and these girls have earned their right to play in the state tournament. They played the Lady Bearcats of DGSG. These ladies played 4 games in 3 days at Districts and then played 6 games in 5 days at Divisionals; that's 10 games in 8 days! Can you say, heart? Cause these girls have got it!
