BOZEMAN — Montanans can open a medical care savings account at a local bank or credit union or make deposits into existing MSAs before Dec. 31 to reduce their state income taxes for 2025, according to Marsha Goetting, Montana State University Extension family economics specialist. HAVRE- The results are in from the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Havre check station for the 2025 hunting season. The check station was open for eight weekends from Oct. 11 (the opener of general antelope and pheasant) through Nov. 30 (the end of the deer/elk general season). Overall, hunter numbers were about the same as last year and the long-term average. Except for antelope, big game numbers were well below average, and upland bird harvest was mixed. Sunday, December 14th a group of twenty players met at the Mint family room to compete in six rounds of pinochle. Rebecca Wiehe had the highest score of 6350 earning her $30. Second high of 6110 went to Maggie Cline giving her $25. Kathy Gregoire earned $15 for third high score of 6090. Ending with 5980 for the day was Susan Knight for fourth and $10.
