North Star, Turner edge Big Sandy basketball teams in District 9C action

The Big Sandy Pioneer boys and girls basketball teams fell in a pair of District 9C contest against the Turner Tornadoes on Friday and the North star Knights on Saturday.
The girls were paced by sophomore Jaylyn Cline with 8 points in their 56-26 loss to Turner and 13 points in their 59-31 loss to North Start.
The boys dropped a highly competitive back and forth contest 81-74 to Turner as junior Bryant Jones led the way with 26 points. Saturday it was eighth graded Kade Strutz leading the Pioneer effort in a 53-40 loss to the Knights.
