The Big Sandy Rotary Club has been busy getting ready for the spring and summer season. On May 2, the club met at the baseball fields adjacent to F.E. Miley school and cleaned up tumble weeds and garbage so the fields will be ready for the baseball season as well as anyone who wishes to begin folfing. Denora "Denny" K. (Reichelt) Johnson, 64, passed away due to natural causes at her residence on May 10, 2022. Alma L. (Jappe) Foss, 99, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Better known as "Dicky", she was born august 17, 1922, along with her twin sister Alva, better known as "Happy", on a farm outside of Big Sandy, MT. She was the daughter of Fritz and Auguste Jappe, who were German immigrants. It's been 16 years since the Lady Pioneers have taken first place at the 9C District track meet. It was a goal they had set for themselves, and it took a total team effort to do. It's been a challenging year for the boys and girls pioneer track teams with lousy weather and numerous track meets canceled. They had to practice indoors when the weather wasn't cooperating.
