The contest against Hays is always tough as we don’t have the height that they do, but where we lack height, we make up for it in quickness.     The Lady Pioneers started the week with the highly anticipated game against the CJI Hawks. The girls came out in full-court pressure hoping to come out and get a quick lead on the Hawks.     The Lady Pioneers hit the road Thursday to Denton to face the D-G-S Bearcats. DGS would jump out to a quick ten-point lead in the first quarter.     One of the two games for the weekend was postponed due to Covid. That left the Pioneers with only a tough matchup against Lady Sugarbeeters, rated 10th in the state on their home court.     After a long cold Christmas break the Lady Bears did not come out on the basketball court cold. Hitting 8 of 17 from behind the acre and shooting 52% from the field the Lady Bears came up with a big victory over the Lady Pioneers. The Lady Pioneers fought hard and never gave up.
