The Big Sandy Pioneer Volleyball team began play this past Friday in Centerville and Saturday the girls were in Belt for their annual pre-season tournament. Twenty-three Barracudas braved the heat wave and took to the pool in Hamilton for the Bitterroot Swim Team Invitational Meet. The team placed third overall, coming in behind Bitterroot and Conrad. Barracudas missed second place by 27 points this weekend, finishing with a 5th place. 27 of the 44 Barracudas faced the cool, windy conditions in Shelby this weekend, along with several of their supporters! This was a one day, timed finals meet in a yard pool. Again, we had three first time swimmers, Henry Merrill, MJ Griffith, and Lindsey Cline. We had a couple swimmers DQ with goggle issues, a couple swimmers forget to dive in or THOUGHT they false started, and a swimmer get a stomach bug halfway through, but all and all it was a good weekend...
