The Big Sandy Pioneer Volleyball team began play this past Friday in Centerville and Saturday the girls were in Belt for their annual pre-season tournament. Barracudas missed second place by 27 points this weekend, finishing with a 5th place. 27 of the 44 Barracudas faced the cool, windy conditions in Shelby this weekend, along with several of their supporters! This was a one day, timed finals meet in a yard pool. Again, we had three first time swimmers, Henry Merrill, MJ Griffith, and Lindsey Cline. We had a couple swimmers DQ with goggle issues, a couple swimmers forget to dive in or THOUGHT they false started, and a swimmer get a stomach bug halfway through, but all and all it was a good weekend...
