With 3 small children of her own, portable and clean snacks...

  • Patching Cracks

    Erik Sietsema|Mar 9, 2022

Over the last few years, I’ve begun to rely more and more on reading glasses. Last Sunday, I forgot to bring a pair to the pulpit when I went up to preach the sermon. I asked my son to run down to my office and grab a pair. He brought back a pair of black framed readers that came from a drawer in my desk. As soon as I saw them, I realized that they were a pair of fake glasses I picked up for Halloween a few years ago. I didn’t want to stop talking and explain why I needed a different pair, so I put them on and did the best I could by squinting...

  • Letter to the Editor

    Mar 9, 2022

In late 2020 I became a board member for the Big Sandy Senior Center. In newspaper parlance, the type of article I write usually is called a “ fluff “ piece. It’s not news or information nor does it provide instruction or commendation of others. It’s just for fun or conveys a feeling about something. I personally have always been a fan of fluff pieces. When you are depressed with the news and financial statements or reading about others who seem to be doing so much better than you, you go to a fluff piece. The following is a double fluff piece. I’m all for second chances for people and animals. I always advocate a...

    Diana Reese-LaBuda|Mar 9, 2022

The Big Sandy wrestling program has been gaining momentum. Unfortunately, our junior high and High School program has been small for years. However, the future of the program is bright. Kyle Rodewald and his group of assistant coaches have built the little guy wrestling program with a roster that has stayed steady to 25-30 wrestlers for the last five years-building a group of wrestlers that are ready to move up.
