    Tyler Lane|Mar 11, 2020

Rachel Endecott (previous MSU Extension Beef specialist) wrote an informative article on calf vaccinations in 2017. We have always given vaccinations to young calves, but do we understand the science behind the diseases we are vaccinating for? Calf vaccination programs are most often based around the clostridial diseases. Clostridial diseases in calfhood vaccines belong to same genus as tetanus and botulism. Sean Janssen|Mar 11, 2020

GREAT FALLS — All good things must come to an end. And make no mistake. Big Sandy had a good run in postseason boys basketball. Great even. Yet it ended March 3 in Great Falls against the Belt Huskies, who by virtue of a 58-39 win in the Northern C divisional tournament’s final game, snagged the last ticket to state in Missoula. The Pioneers finished the season with a 16-11 record and hoisted hardware for their third-place finish. “There are only 12 teams taking home a trophy out of the (81) teams in the (Class) C … and we’re one of them,” Bi...

  • Patching Cracks

    Erik Sietsema|Mar 11, 2020

I attended college in South Chicago while in my early 20s. Chicago was a fun place for a young, irresponsible kid to explore and enjoy. I took full advantage of this truth, taking the train to the city at every opportunity. In my often aimless wanderings, I often lost track of where I was and found myself lost. This was a problem until I learned a simple trick for navigating the sprawling streets of the Chicagoland area. In the middle of the downtown area, there was a landmark that was easily visible for miles around: The Sears Tower (though...
