Mayor Shaud Schwarzbach was sworn in first, and then he swore in the rest of the councilmen, including Rich Jesperson, who is a first-term councilman. Last Tuesday, the Booster club met at the Senior Citizen Center at 7 pm. The meeting was filled with a long agenda. Some items including the new sports cameras and the elementary school’s basketball court were discussed lengthily. This year we kicked off the 4th Annual Big Sandy American Legion Coyote Derby with 25 teams. Despite terrible wind and warmer weather the first day, we had 78 coyotes brought in. By Sunday night, teams killed a total of 183. There are a few less coyotes around going into calving season and I know our local landowners are appreciative. The Diamond 4 U Club was the host bar. Colleen Brady graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1973. Her father, Bill Brady and her mother Ramona owned the Pep's Bar. They built the bowling Alley. Big Sandy Medical Services Foundation is pleased to announce they will once again be awarding scholarships to students pursuing a medical career. For the 2020-2021 college year, up to three $300 scholarships will be given – one to a graduating senior, one to a college student already enrolled in a college, and the third to a second deserving applicant in one of these groups, depending on applications received. Initial Pesticide Trainings in Hingham, Fort Benton, Chester and Great Falls The MSU Golden Triangle Extension Agents are facilitating four private applicator initial trainings this winter. Currently 104 Chouteau County producers have not met the minimum requirements of six private applicator credits.
