Between May 29th and June 8th the Jeff Reichelt Memorial Library will be holding a food drive for the food bank and you’ll get to walk away with free books. In other words a “Book Sale Food Drive”. The non-perishable food items can be brought to the library, left there, and you can pick out your books from a large selection. The summer season is finally here. We are hoping this is a great summer and the community takes advantage of this great feature we have in Big Sandy. There are some changes this year we would like the community to know. The rates have gone up for season pool passes and daily fees. Family pool passes are now $100.00 and a single pool pass is now $60.00. The Northern Ambassadors of music is an honorable group of students from Montana and North Dakota. These students have been chosen by their directors to attend a grand tour during the summer of 2019. Field days near Loma, Turner and Chester on June 27 and June 28 MSU Northern Agricultural Research Center (NARC) and MSU Extension will be hosting two field days near Loma and Turner on Wednesday, June 27 and another field day on Thursday, June 28 near Chester. Every year the F.E. Miley School invites the public to their Extravaganza. Programs and cookies are given at the door so you know exactly what you are going to see in each classroom. The Big Sandy Music Department received funds from the Big Sandy Education Foundation to purchase a Yamaha Marimba for the percussion section. The marimba is an instrument made out of wood that resembles a piano. It has a row of wooden bars along the bottom where the "white" keys would be on a piano and the row above them would be the "black" keys on a piano. Highwood Bench Soil Acidity Management Field Day MSU Central Agricultural Research Center (CARC) and MSU Extension will be hosting a field day on the Highwood Bench on Wednesday, June 20, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
