    For the second time this season the Big Sandy Pioneer football team was forced to stay home instead of taking the field for a varsity football contest. Earlier in the season it was the unforeseen forfeit to the North Star Knights that cost them a game, this past week it was the Augusta Elks who had canceled their season back in August.     The Big Sandy Pioneers got back on the winning track in a big way this past Friday as they ran all over the visiting Heart Butte Warriors in a lopsided 63-0 win.     The Big Sandy Pioneer volleyball team picked up one of its biggest conference wins in sometime last Thursday as they swept the visiting Chester/Joplin-Inverness Hawks 3-0.     The Big Sandy Pioneer football team has playoff aspirations this fall but now stand at 2-2 following another tough loss to a ranked opponent. The Geraldine/Highwood Rivals raced out to a 24-12 halftime lead and then held on for a 56-42 win over the hometown Pioneers.     The Big Sandy Pioneer Volleyball team had a busy week on the court with a match against the Chinook Sugarbeeters on Thursday and then two days of tournament play at the Cascade Badger Invitational.     Bailey Gasvoda and Ryan Roth were rewarded their 2017 MVP awards at the recent 2018 Booster Club Kick Off. Last year the track season wasn't very long due to difficult spring weather.
