A $2500 grant was recently awarded to the Town of Big Sandy upon the completion of a Broadband Action Plan. The grant was made possible by Triangle Communications with their Smart Rural Connected Community Challenge. The new, recycled, Mayor of Big Sandy is Shaud Schwarzbach. He will serve as Mayor, replacing the current Mayor Steve Stiles, who resigned due to illness. The council wants to have a Proclamation and proper acknowledgement given to Steve Stiles for his service, but that presentation will take place when Steve is healthier. The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission approved the Bridger Special Chronic Wasting Disease Hunt at its regular monthly meeting Thursday. The hunt will begin on Dec. 15 and go through Feb. 15. Licenses will go on sale Dec. 11. The goal of the hunt is to determine prevalence and distribution of chronic wasting disease within the hunt area.
