The Big Sandy Pioneers had a rough go of things on the hardwood this past week as both the girls and boys dropped a pair of contests to the Fort Benton Longhorns on Friday night and then to the Chinook Sugarbeeters on Saturday. It has been some time since the Big Sandy Pioneers could say that both the boys and girls basketball teams began the season 2-0, but they did just that this past weekend. The girls picked up a 42-27 win over the Dutton/Brady Diamondbacks on Friday led by junior Amanda Cline's 14 points. The scoreboard operator was busy Friday night in Big Sandy as the Pioneers capped off the 63rd Annual Chili Feed with a 89-52 win over the Power-Dutton-Brady Titans. Bailey Gasvoda and Ryan Roth were rewarded their 2017 MVP awards at the recent 2018 Booster Club Kick Off. Last year the track season wasn't very long due to difficult spring weather.
